Description

The graphical template editor (described in ticket #73) needs to provide a way to identify mappings from user-visible fields to the underlying OME-XML. One challenge of doing so is making it easy for the user (template designer) to quickly find desired fields, despite differences in terminology between labs and disciplines, without needing to scroll through large lists of terms.

As such, it would be useful to provide a search tool for finding terms. Ideally, the search database would contain a number of synonyms for each term. The easiest way to build such a database would probably be to harness an existing ontology or terminology solution within the biological community. Possibly useful tools include:

There are surely others as well (if you find one, add it to this ticket).
